Privacy Policy

Trust is the whole point of this campaign, so here is our privacy promise in plain language first: we collect only what you choose to give us, we use it only to run this campaign, we protect it carefully, and we will never sell it. Ever.

What we collect, and why

Consent (and Canada's anti-spam law)

We follow CASL (Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation) and the consent principles of PIPEDA. You only join our email list if you clearly choose to — the box is never pre-ticked. Every list email we send includes a working unsubscribe that we honour promptly. When you submit a form, we send you the one transactional email you'd expect (for example, donation instructions you requested) — that is not a subscription.

Donations

Donation information (your name, address, and amount) is collected and kept because Alberta's Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure Act requires campaigns to record contributions and contributor eligibility, and to disclose them to Elections Alberta as the law prescribes. Where the law requires disclosure, that disclosure happens; nothing beyond it does.

Where your information lives

Form submissions are stored securely with Cloudflare (our website host) and email is delivered through Brevo (our email service). Both are established providers we use as service providers only — they process data on our instructions and may store it outside Canada (subject to their own safeguards and applicable law). Access to campaign data is limited to a small number of authorized campaign staff with individual, password-protected accounts.

How long we keep it

Campaign records are kept for the duration of the nomination campaign and for the period Alberta election law requires financial records to be retained, then deleted. Mailing-list information is kept until you unsubscribe or the campaign winds down.

Your rights

Ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it (except where election law requires us to keep a record — we'll tell you if that's the case). Unsubscribe from emails at any time. To exercise any of these, email VoteKaren@KPUCP.com — a real person answers within 48 hours.

Questions or complaints

Write to VoteKaren@KPUCP.com. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

If we ever change this policy, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date — no silent edits.
