The Peters Promise: What You Can Expect From Me

By Karen Peters ·

Most politicians ask for something first: your vote, your money, your sign on their lawn. I want to do this differently, because I believe the order matters. You give first, or you don’t deserve to lead.

So before I ask anything of you, here is what I’m giving — my word, in writing. Hold me to it:

The Peters Promise

That’s the deal I’m offering. It’s the same deal neighbours around here have always made with each other: you help when it’s your turn, you keep your word, and you don’t make people chase you for an answer.

You shouldn’t have to earn your MLA’s attention. Your MLA should earn your trust.

If that’s the kind of voice you want speaking for this region, I’m asking for one small thing in return — and it costs ten dollars and two minutes: a UCP membership before August 11, so you can vote in this nomination. That’s it. That’s the whole ask.

And if there’s something you need — help finding the right government office, a question about this nomination, anything — write me first: VoteKaren@KPUCP.com. Giving first is the whole point.
